Do you remember birthdays at the last minute? Or worse, a day late? Your mother would never approve! But how can you keep up with all your friends' and family's special days? With computers becoming a part of nearly every job, and more computers in homes than ever before, most people have access to a very efficient reminder service right at home.
There are several options: First, use software that you already own, such as Microsoft Outlook (a popular email program), which contains a calendar program. Outlook lets you enter birthdays once and have them repeat every year. You can set a custom reminder alarm to popup anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 weeks before the date.

The second option would be to make up family calendars every year. Have the family get together in November and December and using store bought calendars, color and decorate the important you want to remember in the upcoming year. Make one for every person (or more to share!) and keep them wherever you will look at them most: your desk, the refrigerator or the bathroom mirror.

Finally, there are several birthday reminder websites which will send you emails or text messages on your cell phone to prompt you in advance of birthdays. Some are free, but there are some that charge a nominal fee; check them out before signing up! Also, you will have to type in all the information about the birthday and when you remind you.
